The !Observe software was originally designed by and for psychologists.  Behavior observation is an important part of every psychologist daily work.  Unfortunately most psychologists conduct behavior observations on bits and pieces of paper that end up looking like several weeks of grocery lists.  With the !Observe software and a laptop computer, the grocery list days of behavior observation are over.

The !Observe software is very easy to use.  Below you see the operations screen from the observe software.  From this screen you will conduct the observation.  The buttons on the left comprise the template.  Templates comprise the heart of the !Observe behavioral data collection system.  Templates are so easy to make (usually taking 5-10 minutes to create) that most psychologists who use the !Observe make a new template for each client.  

After template is created all you need to do is click the start button and click the appropriate behavior button when needed.  A countdown clock and interval setting makes interval observation a snap (no need to look at the clock).  After the observation is over a click of the Summarize button pulls up a summary of the behavior observation as is seen below.

This screen can be configured to show Rate Per Minute, subtotal by class or category, to show Duration, or to show headings.  This information can then instantly be printed or saved to a file on your computer.  These electronic files can easily be imported into spreadsheets to make charts and graphs to make your reports more powerful and easier to read.
